First and foremost, I believe that establishing a safe space is fundamental to healing and wellness. My practice is grounded in non-judgemental listening, informed consent, and clinical reasoning. I embrace the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life. When making treatment plans, I like to cultivate a collaborative environment where you feel involved in taking ownership of your health. I recognize the importance of acknowledging the body as a whole and the unique contextual life experiences that shape each individual.
My style of treatment has been described as intuitive and adaptive. The techniques I employ are focused on providing relief and care to these various systems - the nervous, musculoskeletal, and integumentary (skin). This stems from having a neurocentric approach where I take each patient’s nervous system into consideration at every appointment.
The desired effects of massage therapy are intended to help identify/manage areas of pain/discomfort, maintain/increase mobility, and provide sensations of relief/relaxation.
My experience covers, but is not limited to treating patients who are living with chronic/persistent pain or have physical manifestations of stress & anxiety (insomnia, fatigue, restlessness). I also enjoy working with patients with sport-related conditions as well as joint-related conditions (Ankylosing Spondylitis & TMJ). As a tennis & volleyball enthusiast myself, I understand what is required to maintain your body to access the hobbies you love.
My philosophy is in the beginner’s mind and I am constantly striving to learn more. Outside of my profession, I find that I am particularly drawn to the burgeoning studies of psychedelic alternative therapies, trauma, yoga/breath-work, and neurodivergence.
I find balance in my life through meditation, reading, writing & being in nature.
